I was out early this morning, strolling the yard--something I plan to do a lot of in the coming weeks--and caught the aroma of gardenia. It was an instant reminder of my mom . . .
What Matters . . .
Pages
My photo students and I are starting a project called 20: One Grateful. Can we use our art form to develop creativity through gratitude? In 20 days of photographs and reflection, we are going in search of What Matters . . . Read about our project and progress!

DAY 20 - Meaning
Our world looks different from a distant perspective, doesn't it? It's always important to consider "the big picture". This project has added immensely to my perspective, has added a bit of a creative focus to each day, and there hasn't been a project with Photo students that has been more rewarding! I LOVE getting a glimpse into each person's world as you make meaning and seeing you all as grateful people . . . As this school year ends, I hope that you will continue to find value in your experiences, your learning, and in the world, near and far.

DAY 18 - Perspective
I am fascinated with the way minds work . . . and (mostly) grateful for my outlook on life! I am glad that I see things the way I do (and that I'm willing to go looking for another way), and that I feel appreciative. Sometimes I wonder what perspective is and where it comes from: born with it, learned it, brain chemistry or something else . . . in the meantime, I'll just keep using it :-)

Week 4 - FINAL REFLECTION - Due Fri., May 31 *No exceptions!*
Students,
Here are your instructions for your final reflection. Be sure to read them carefully and completely!
Write about ALL of the following:
1. Brain research shows that being grateful builds
creativity. In the 20:One Grateful
project did you find that to be true?
What is your evidence? Be
specific! (Write about your experience
and cite specific examples in your photos, thinking, and/or approach to taking
photographs.)
2. What was the most difficult part of this
project? What was the most valuable? Would you recommend this project to
other students? Regardless of how you
respond, provide EVIDENCE for each response (describe why or how).
3. If you were to design a similar 20-day photo project, instead
of a project on being grateful, what would the theme be and why?
Grading:
*There are five
questions that require a response. Each
response requires ‘why’ or ‘how’ as evidence.
Art 100 – All responses, with depth of thought and quality
examples evident
WOW! – All responses with evidence
Accomplished – All responses with some evidence
Emerging – Responses with some evidence
Novice – Responses

DAY 4 - I Can't Resist One More . . .
Especially when it's Love in a Mist! There is exuberance and renewal hidden in my garden; isn't it wonderful that beautiful color grows so easily?

Help Me!
I think this font is a little hard to read . . . scroll to the bottom and look at my first post. What do you think? Should I change my template and set the font to Arial?

Getting Started!
Students, your first 'official' post of your photo and caption is due on Friday! (I'm so excited!) Please be sure to title your post DAY 1. You may ADD to the title, if you wish. For example: DAY 1 - It's a Beautiful Day! Title each photo post for the day it represents; you will have 20. REMEMBER to proofread each post for correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar!
